Using AI in EMR progress notes #

Legend has integrated AI inside the progress notes, which can be used to achieve the following.

Medical Coding #

AI is used inside progress notes to suggest ICD-10, CPT and E/M codes.

ICD-10 codes #

To view AI suggestions for ICD codes

• Go to EMR
• Click on the progress note you want to work on
• Add a Diagnosis
• Click on the AI icon next to Diagnosis on the right pane, shown in the image
• AI will suggest an appropriate ICD code for the diagnosis you added

 

CPT codes #

To view AI suggestions for CPT codes

• Add a procedure
• Click on the AI icon next to Procedure on the right pane
• AI will suggest appropriate CPT codes

 

E/M codes #

To view AI suggestions for E/M codes

• Click on the AI icon next to ENM codes
• AI will suggest appropriate codes

Treatment and medication suggestions #

AI can be used to suggest prospective treatment and medication options based on diagnoses.

Treatment options #

To view the prospective treatment options

• Add a diagnosis
• Click on the AI icon next to Assessment and Plan
• AI recommends treatment options

Medication suggestions #

To view medication suggestions

• Add a diagnosis
• Click on the AI icon next to Prescription

Rephrasing chart text #

You can use AI to rephrase the text that you’ve written inside the chart. To rephrase:

• Against each heading inside the chart, you’ll see the icon shown in the image below
• Enter data under the heading
• Click on the icon
• AI will rephrase your text for you

Summarizing the progress notes #

AI in Legend can be used to generate a summary based on all the progress notes of the patients

• Go to EMR
• Go to Summary
• You’ll see AI icon next to Walk In
• Click on the icon
• AI will generate a summary for you based on all the progress notes of your patients
