Capability: E-Prescribing

Relevant Certification Criterion: 170.315(b)(3) electronic prescribing; 

170.315(a)(1)Computerized provider order entry (CPOE) – medications;

170.315(a)(4) drug-drug, drug-allergy interaction checks for CPOE 

Relied upon software: ScriptSure

The ability to electronically transmit prescriptions for medications and controlled substances, and to check drug-drug and drug-allergy interactions within EMR. 

Legend EHR utilizes a certified third party tool ‘ScriptSure’ for all the listed certification criteria. 

ScriptSure charges a per provider subscription fee for e-prescribing functionality. The fee is structured as a monthly per provider fee.

Lab interface

Relevant Certification Criteria:

170.315(a)(2) Computerized provider order entry (CPOE) – laboratory;170.315(b)(1) transitions of care;170.315(e)(1) view, download, and transmit to 3rd party  

Interface between EHR and participating third party laboratories for the transmission of lab orders and receipt of lab results.

Legend EHR uses a third party software called ChangeHealth to interface with external participating laboratories. 

Use for eLab requires establishment of an interface between external laboratory and EHR. 

Legend EHR charges a per interface fee, which clients will be subjected to if they utilize the eLab interface capability.

Capability: 

Direct Emails

Relevant Certification Criteria: 

170.315(b)(1) transitions of Care; 170.315(e)(1) view, download, and transmit to 3rd party; 170.315(h)(1) Direct Project

Provides users the ability to exchange electronic messages with participants in the Direct Trust network and with Health Information Service Providers (HISPs) that have established trust agreements with Legend EHR’s third-party direct messaging vendor.

Legend EHR is integrated with EMRDirect to send and receive direct messages. 

EMRDirect charges per provider/address per year fee for their Phimail service. There is also a one-time setup fee included. 
Capability: 

Application Program Interfaces (“APIs”)

Relevant certification criteria: 

170.315(g)(7), (g)(9), and (g)(10)

The APIs allow the EHR application to process requests from other software systems that include enough patient-identifying information to locate the patient and return the appropriate patient summary record.

Legend EHR integrates with EMRDirect to allow software applications to access patient records to fulfill criterion (g)(10). 

EMR Direct may charge a setup fee.
Capability: 

Electronic Health Information (EHI) Export

Relevant certification criteria:

170.315 (b)(10) Electronic Health Information export

EHI Export provides users the capability

to export Electronic Health Information (EHI), for a single patient or for the user’s patient population.

Legend EHR charges a fee for patient population EHI export.

However, clients need to open a support case with techsupport@legendehr.com to export EHI for patient population. 

Single patient export can be initiated through Legend EHR’s user-end.

Decision Support Interventions (DSIs)

Relevant certification Criteria: 170.315(b)(11) – Decision Support Interventions

Legend EHR provides users with evidence and predictive decision support interventions, that they can utilize to make informed decisions about patient health.  There is no fee for this capability.
